NRG Insulated Block delivers an affordable, sustainable, resilient, high performance wall for evolving energy codes.
How does NRG work?
Rock science is not rocket science.
Concrete is made of rock.
Concrete masonry units = cmu's = concrete blocks = rock.
Rock absorbs and stores energy (rock has a high heat capacity). Ask any caveman.
Rock on the inside wall of a building can store a lot of energy.
Continuous insulation outside of a rock wall keeps the rock's energy in the building.
Rock outside of the insulation delivers a secure, fire safe, low maintenance, attractive finish.
Why is continuous insulation extremely important?
Continuous insulation keeps more energy in the building, and prevents wasting money and energy.
In conventional cmu's (and all other insulated, reduced-web cmu's), the heat and cold travel right through the connecting webs. This is called thermal bridging. Thermal bridges are like throwing money out the window.
Of the estimated one billion 8" cmu's installed in the US every year, only the NRG 8" cmu features continuous insulation.
Since NRG cmu's have zero thermal bridges, you get a building that stays comfortably warm in winter and refreshingly cool in summer, for less money than conventional wall systems.
Because NRG blocks are insulated at the factory, you save on construction material and labor cost, as the wall is finished inside and out by one trade, a skilled mason.
Bonus: you get a lifetime of money-saving energy efficiency.
If you are going to design, develop, fund, and/or own a School, Dormitory, Office, Hospital, Strip Mall, Residential, Commercial, Industrial, Multi-Family, Big Box, Government, or any other type of building which will be heated or cooled, anNRG wall delivers exceptional value at a reasonable price.
Is NRG innovative?
The US Patent and Trademark Office chose NRG Insulated Block as one of just thirteen game-changing inventions to exhibit at the 2015 US Innovation Festival, held at the Smithsonian National Museum of American History in Washington, DC.
NRG technology won the New York State Governor's Award for Energy Excellence.
No other cmu or insulated cmu has been awarded these honors.
If you want to go ultra high performance, NRG block can help you achieve a zero energy ready (ZER) building, where the addition of a small renewable energy source can make your building energy independent.
Take some time, and look around the website to see how NRG can help you create a better building.
If you are building a wall, and Mexico is not paying for it, you should build an NRG wall.
If you are building a wall, or know someone who is, call me at (716) 947-9298 and let's talk about it, or shoot me an e-mail at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Don't be shy. I truly enjoy answering my phone and meeting people. (Monday through Friday 9am to 5 pm EST). If I am not in the office, please leave a message, and I will return your call (usually that day, but always within 24 hours).
